When your friend is expecting a baby, what’s the first thing you’d expect to happen? Why, you’ll probably be the baby’s godparent of course! And that is precisely what happened with Taylor Swift when news of her friend Jaime King being pregnant with her second baby came out.

The excited godmother-to-be took to Instagram to announce her exciting news. Taylor Swift posted a photo of her on her knees and touching Jaime King’s baby bump. She then captioned the photo with, “Guess who just got named Godmother of this little one….. (ME) @jaime_king @kyle_newman”

Later, King also took to Instagram in confirming the news, posting another photo of her and Swift together as they look on to her baby bump. Her caption to the photo says, “And @taylorswift will forever be looking over our new baby @kyle_newman -we all love you!!!! Xx”

Last February 2015, King announced via Instagram that she was expecting her second child with her husband Kyle Newman. The couple also have a son, James Knight, who actually was the one who told the world that he will soon be a big brother.

King’s second pregnancy can be counted as one of the many miracles of life since the couple have been trying hard for a long time now.

In an interview with People last July 2014, King revealed that after consulting obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Randy Harris, she found out that she has endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome, which greatly affected the possibility of her getting pregnant. She was then subjected to five rounds of in vitro fertilization and 26 rounds of intrauterine insemination, and also suffered five miscarriages.  before giving birth to a health baby boy.

After such an emotional and physical struggle, King and Newman’s eldest son was conceived by natural means. King said, “When I got pregnant, it was the best thing in the whole world. I had never felt so grateful, happy and elated.” She also mentioned of her having a difficult pregnancy and enduring 26 hours of labor before she finally got to see her son’s face.

We hope that her pregnancy will be better the second time around, especially with godmother Taylor Swift just close by to help King with her baby.
