Teen Mom Cast Update: Catelynn Lowell and Novalee, at Risk Due to Diabetes

Sadly for Catelynn Lowell of “Teen Mom OG” Season 5, she has a lot to worry about during her journey with baby Novalee. She learned that she had gestational diabetes in the final part of her pregnancy. Read on for details.

In Lowell’s final trimester,  the risk of uncontrollable blood sugar levels because of diabetes caused worries for Novalee. MTV stated that Novalee could experience premature birth, obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypoglycemia or respiratory distress syndrome. Lowell was also at risk because of the high possibility of caesarean operation, preeclampsia, diabetes and high blood pressure.

What is left for Lowell is to ensure that she and Novalee would live in a healthy environment.

In the earlier months since Novalee’s birth, Lowell and Tyler Baltierra gave only teasers of their baby, showing only her feet or her hands. After more than two months, they posted photos of Novalee in their respective Instagram accounts. Baltierra posted a photo of Novalee looking right up to the camera and wearing pink ‘I Love MOMMY’ clothes. Lowell, on the other hand, posted a photo of Novalee sleeping and another showing Lowell kissing a rather sleepy-looking Novalee in her arms. Another, third photo showed Novalee sleeping beside her godmother Kiki.

Novalee Reign Baltierra was born on New Year’s Day 2015 and is the second daughter of Lowell and Baltierra. Although, Novalee is the first child the young couple will be raising together. Their eldest daughter Carly was put up for adoption back in 2009 because they believed they were too young to take care of her back then.

“Teen Mom” airs every Monday at 10:00 p.m. on MTV.
