Cowabunga! The “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” are back in the second film installment. The four main actors Jeremy Howard (Donatello), Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo), and Noel Fisher (Michelangelo) sat down in an honest interview and shared some details about the film. They also revealed how the popular 80s and 90s saga brought them closer.
Screen Rant got the opportunity to have the four boys in an interview as they visited their set in New York.
When asked about their insight on coming back for another movie, Ritchson said, “It feels good. I got to be honest, I was a little nervous about coming back because the first run of this–the first trial run of the first film–was pretty tough. Pretty tough.”
What was the difference between the filming of the first and the second movie? Ploszek explained, “I think that has informed our approach to this one though in the sense that I think we’re all very aware of the movie we made last time. What worked. What didn’t work. When you see what made it and what didn’t make it (into the final cut), it really informs your choices as an actor.”
He added, “Even just seeing your translation of yourself to a motion-captured turtle, it’s pretty damn educational. So that’s sort of greased the machine for us this time around. It’s been a good fast start.”
In another article from Screen Rant, Fisher highlighted how their brotherhood becomes the focus of the movie.
Fisher explained, “Us four as people have a really great natural chemistry that’s been there from the get-go, We really genuinely like hanging out and busting each others’ balls like brothers would. I think that’s the main thing we’re bringing along with more of the turtles in this movie. So we got the opportunity to bring all of that energy to it.”
Howard expressed his delight over the “new toy” used in the movie. “Donny’s got a great interactive hologram now that spreads out in front of them. It’s pretty awesome,” he said.
Looks like the boys are indeed having fun as they finish the filming of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.”
