Back in 2014 “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” was a decent reboot of the adorable pizza eating, crime fighting teenage turtles who also happened to be ninjas. The much bolder and bigger version of the cartoonish turtles didn’t go down well with many, as some believed that the makers didn’t have to reboot the material at all while some didn’t agree with the changes. But with a sequel releasing next year, the franchise has included some more classic characters to it and revealed some details.
According to Movie Pilot, newly released photos of the movie give quite a fair amount of idea of what we should be expecting from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Half Shell.” It is being said that when TMNT was rebooted, quite a few pivotal elements from the original series were left out. But the sequel of the movie has made a point to include those.
First and foremost was TMNT’s prime pal and April O’Neil’s love interest Casey Jones who was left out of the first movie. Many did expect to see the character because he happens to be one of the most significant one in the series and is mainly known for associating with the TMNT as a vigilante.
Some of the recently released photos show “Arrow” star Stephen Amell as Casey Jones who has finally made it in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Half Shell.” Staying true to his character, he can be seen wearing a hockey mask and wielding a hockey stick while guarding the streets. On the villain side, two of the most popular adversaries of the turtles have also joined the cast as new photos reveal the first look of Beebop and Rocksteady. Gary Williams is playing the role of Beebop while Stephen Farrelly is playing Rocksteady.
The new photos also give us our first look at the new Shredder the turtles will be facing as Brian Tee sported a much leaner look while dressed as the villain. Judith Hoag who played the role of April O’Neil in the original turtles film was also seen but her role as of now has been undisclosed.
Venture Capital Post added that Shredder will be teaming up with another villain called General Krang who was a war criminal and is considered as one of the most powerful villains the turtles have ever faced. “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Half Shell” will release on June 3rd next year.
