Despite her legal woes, Teresa Giudice has started filming for the seventh season of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” (RHONJ). The reality star, who will start serving 15 months starting Jan. 5, 2015, will appear on the show as she gets ready to enter prison. She will also be featured in a holiday special, where she will say goodbye to fans before she starts her sentence.
“It was a no brainer for Teresa to decide to do the show, because she obviously needs the money to pay off mounting debt,” a source told Radar.
The source also said that the reality star is using her daughters to squeeze more money from the show.
“She knows viewers will want to see how they are coping with the fallout from their parents’ legal problems,” added the source.
Giudice's has four daughters: Gia, 13, Gabriella, 9, Milania, 8, and Audriana, 5. All of them will appear on the show, and Giudice is reportedly making sure that each of them gets paid for being on “RHONJ.”
Giudice and her husband, Joe Giudice, were tried in court for obtaining over $5 million in loans using fake documents. They were charged for multiple counts of fraud last year, including bankruptcy fraud and failure to file tax returns. They both pled guilty.
She was sentenced to 15 months, while her husband was sentence to 44 months in prison. They have been asked to pay $414,558 in restitution. For the sake of their daughters, they will not be serving their sentences at the same time.
Giudice recently walked out on set during the “RHONJ” reunion, when other cast members began talking about her legal troubles on video. Her aunt, Maria Pierri, told other family members on camera, “I don't know what to say, but when you don't do the right thing it will catch up with you,” pertaining to Giudice's problems.
This upset the reality star, who said, “I need a break. You guys can have the conversation without me.”
