A post-show special on the same network will cover the ceremony's highlights and interviews with winners.

According to the award-giving body’s website, “The recipients of the Hollywood Film Awards are selected for their body of work and/or a film that is to be released during the calendar year.”

Last year's awardees include big Hollywood names like Benedict Cumberbatch, Julie Delpy, Lupita Nyong'o and Julia Roberts.

The Hollywood Film Awards was founded in 1997. According to Variety, it represents “CBS’ effort to muscle into the film awards season that typically delivers strong ratings every year for NBC’s Golden Globe Awards telecast in January and ABC’s Oscarcast in late February or early March.”

The Hollywood Film Awards is known as “the first stop” and generally sets the tone for the awards season, which culminates in the Academy Awards, formerly known as the Oscars.
