Steve Strongman of the group Hamilton leads the 18th Maple Blues Awards nominations list with a total of four Maple Blues Award nominations. He celebrated globally for his sizzling electric guitar as he received four nominations in the awards event. Read on for further details.

According to The Spec, Strongman has been nominated in the categories: Entertainer of the Year, Best Guitarist, Electric Act of the Year and Entertainer of the Year. Aside from him, 72-year-old Harrison Kennedy followed with three nominations. Kennedy, a proficient blues vocalist and composer, was nominated for Acoustic Act of the Year, Best Male Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year.

A jury of industry professionals from across Canada select the nominees. After the announcement, the winners of the Annual Maple Blue Awards are chosen through the public online voting. Voting is open from 11:59 p.m. NDT on Nov. 5, 2014 until 11:59 p.m. PST on Dec. 5, 2014. Canadian blues fans, log on to and cast your vote and help your favorite star win an award. Fans can cast their votes in all categories except the instrumental categories.

"Honoring the finest in Canadian blues," the Maple Blues Awards are Canada’s blues awards presented by the Toronto Blues Society since their inception in 1997.The blues awards program's goal is to uphold blues music across Canada and to honor exceptional accomplishment. The 18th Maple Blues Awards winners will be announced at a ceremony on Jan. 19, 2014 at Koerner Hall Toronto.
