Rest assured, even flooding cannot prevent the 2014 Teen Choice Awards from pushing through on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014. The awards were forced, however, to relocate to the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles due to flooding that occurred, which affected the Pauly Pavilion, the venue of this year’s Teen Choice Awards. Read on to learn more about the story.

The Teen Choice Awards is an award-giving event held every year, which airs on FOX. It recognizes the biggest achievements of the year in entertainment, fashion, music and sports. The only difference with this unique awards show is that the viewers, the teens themselves, vote for their favorites to win.

The 2014 Teen Choice Awards, scheduled to the held on Aug. 10, 2014, had to unexpectedly change venue as a thirty-inch main water pipe burst along Sunset Boulevard. This cause around twenty million gallons of water to come gushing through, greatly affecting and damaging the campus of University of California-Los Angeles. The venue for the awards, the Pauly Pavilion, located on the campus grounds, was one of those buildings affected by the flooding.

However, the show must and will go on as the Teen Choice Awards, which will be hosted by “Modern Family’s” Sarah Hyland and “Teen Wolf”s” Tyler Posey will be relocated to the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The producers of the show also wished that the University of California-Los Angeles will be able to recover from the flooding soon.

Those who already have tickets need not worry as, according to Deadline, Ticketmaster will be assisting with the refunding of any tickets and will help in the reseating of the venue.

The show will feature a myriad of celebrities, aside from the hosts of the show. Some of the other celebrities that will be featured in the show include Hailee Steinfeild, Tyler Blackburn, Bella Thorne, Lucy Hale, Ian Harding, Jake T. Austin, Cody Simpson and Zenday.

The 2014 Teen Choice Awards will air live on FOX, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Don’t forget to tune in and watch your favorite celebrities take home a prize!
