‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Trailer: Spidey to tackle Oscorp Industries and Electro

And at last after a lot of hype, Sony releases the official trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2!

As shown in this first theatrical preview, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) continues to battle Max Dillon/Electro (Jamie Foxx), with his main focus being on to uncover his long-gone father’s (Campbell Scott) research for Oscorp Industries. Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) also makes a come back, and what it heralds for our intrepid superhero is still to be seen.

Along with constantly dealing with new threats, Pete also attempts to juggle the responsibilities of his everyday life, and that’s what makes it a proper Spider-Man story! For his girlfriend Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), it no longer wonders her when she watches Pete being rained gunfire by police, she just acts casual about it, and to our web-slinging hero, that’s practically a sluggish day at work.

And then giving a quick glimpse of Doctor Octopus’ mechanical arms and the Vulture’s wings, the trailer also hints that the wall-crawling hero will still have to face a lot more obstacles in a future installment.

This official synopsis also reveals that all of Spidey’s enemies – whether they be the newly-transformed Green Goblin or any other mysterious figure who makes a brief appearance in the trailer – have one thing in common, that is their connection to Richard Parker’s old work place, Oscorp.

In short: this second installment is not only focused on continuing the previous mythology, but it will also dig in Peter’s issues about his past, which remained unresolved in the first movie. If the sequel’s screenwriter Alex Kurtzman and his co-writers Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner prove able to relate all these elements together, and then director Marc Webb, on his end, delivers a bigger blockbuster spectacle with better visual style, I’m sure it’s going to be the best Spider-Man film released to date.

The original 2012 movie was a Box Office hit which earned $752 million worldwide, and that’s what urged Sony to announce The Amazing Spider-Man Part 3 and Part 4 for 2016 and 2018 even before release of the latest installment.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to release on May 2nd, 2014.
