“The Big Bang Theory” (TBBT) is only a few months away from its Season 9 premiere and fans are already excited to hear more about Sheldon and Amy following the heartbreaking Season 8 finale. Will there be a time jump in the upcoming season? This contains spoilers for “Big Bang Theory.” Read on to learn more about this story.
“The Big Bang Theory “ Season 9 is expected to give fans some form of resolution or explanation to the Season 8 finale. The latest season of the CBS sitcom left many fans hanging. It was after Amy (Mayim Bialik) decided to end things with Sheldon (Jim Parsons), only to see the latter holding a ring before the screen went pitch black.
While many fans started speculating that Sheldon was supposed to propose to Amy, actress Mayim Bialik advised fans not to quickly jump into conclusions.
“We don’t really know what the story is with that ring. And I think that’s something I had to remember as an actor. We don’t know what he was planning to do with it,” the 39-year-old actress told LA Times.
Bialik also admitted that she has no idea about Sheldon’s intentions with the ring. She said that she can understand how fans can immediately draw conclusions based on the scene.
Meanwhile, “The Big Bang Theory” showrunner Steve Molaro hinted on the possibility of a time jump when the sitcom returns for Season 9.
“It’s too soon to say, but it does feel like if there is a time jump, it probably wouldn’t be terribly long,” he said, according to THR.
If the time jump really takes place next season, then does this mean fans will see Sheldon and Amy’s future?
It may or it may not; it all depends on whether or not a time jump happens when “The Big Bang Theory” Season 9 returns on Monday, Sept. 21 on CBS.
