“The Big Bang Theory” season 8 left many “Shamy” fans heartbroken after Amy broke up with Sheldon, even when the latter looked like he was going to propose. Will Sheldon step it up in season 9 and be more affectionate towards Amy? Spoilers ahead! Read on for more details on “The Big Bang Theory.”
“The Big Bang Theory” season 8 recently ended with Amy and Sheldon’s breakup and Leonard and Penny heading to their wedding at Las Vegas. While most “Shamy” fans were dissatisfied to be left with such a heartbreaking cliffhanger, fans are greeted with the good news that season 9 will premiere this fall. Not much wait for fans, right?
Showrunner Steve Molaro revealed to The Hollywood Reporter (THR) that fans will see more of Amy and Sheldon next season as Mayim Bialik will remain as a series regular. This news slams several rumors, which claim that the love story between Sheldon and Amy is done following their breakup.
“I don’t think they’re done speaking by any means. He’s so fond of her — something is going to happen between them, I’m sure,” Molaro said to THR.
This statement has led several fans to speculate that while things may look better between Leonard and Penny, things may look different next season. Some fans began wondering if a wedding will take place between Sheldon and Amy while Leonard and Penny’s wedding gets cancelled.
The showrunner hinted that there may be a short time jump in “The Big Bang Theory” season 9. This plan, however, remains borderline chancy as Molaro revealed that they have not yet begun writing for the next season.
Meanwhile, Unreality TV reported that “The Big Bang Theory” will be moving back to its Monday evening slot when it returns for season 9 this coming fall. According to the outlet, the show’s airdate has been moved to give way to CBS’ “Thursday Night Football.” The show will be back to its Thursday airdate after around eight weeks.
