The determined contestants say “aloha” to Hawaii in the new episode of “The Biggest Loser” Season 16 Episode 13 “Kauai Part 1,” which aired last Dec. 18, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. on NBC. In this episode, Bob welcomes JJ in the Comeback Canyon, the contestants take advantage of the island’s challenging environment and everyone cries with Woody after knowing his current weight.

JJ is being interviewed in the limousine when the vehicle stops suddenly. Bob opens the door and greets the eliminated player. JJ bursts out laughing. Bob gives JJ another chance to redeem himself and the possibility to return to the ranch. JJ will face Scott.

Meanwhile, the contestants are obviously excited to go to Kauai, Hawaii while packing their things.

In Hawaii, Ali welcomes them while standing near the edge of Waimea Canyon. Athletes all over the world already went there to push themselves to the limit because of the challenging elements surrounding the place. She tells the contestants that they will stay there for two weeks.

The contestants start training with Dolvett, Jen and Jessie on the Polihale Beach. Jen makes Jordan and Sonya throw big rocks. Some contestants dig, crawl and run with Jessie.

However, while Dolvett is training the participants, he notices Rob not showing his best. After a mock brawl with Woody, Rob suddenly feels dizzy. Dolvett talks to Rob for encouragement. Rob wants to give up already, but Dolvett insists he must control himself.

It is time for the challenge. Ali introduces the mechanics on Anini Beach. The contestants must grab a kayak and paddle 1,000 feet to the buoys to get a bag of puzzles inside. They will return to the shore and assemble the puzzle. The fastest person to complete the puzzle wins. The prize will be identified after completing the puzzle. The total distance the contestants will travel is 2,000 feet which is as big as seven football fields.

Lori is the first one to ride on the kayak. A few minutes later, it becomes anyone’s game.

Lori gets the first bag although it is a close fight with Jordan and Sonya. However, Jordan cannot get the bag off the hook. Some players are already falling from their kayaks.

Lori reaches the finish line first, but it still goes down to who finishes the puzzle first. Other players arrive from their kayaks and run to their posts. Rob and Sonya are the last ones to return. Some contestants slowly see the sky and water in the puzzle.

Jordan finishes the puzzle first. The picture shows a helicopter above the sea with a mountain in the background. Lori is relieved it is not an advantage in the weigh-in.

Jordan wins a helicopter tour around the whole island of Hawaii. He must pick one person to accompany him. He chooses Toma.

Back in Los Angeles, California, JJ and Scott are hiking with Bob. Bob notices that two football players are competing like last week.

JJ and Scott start training with Bob by running with a huge ball on their hands. Bob reminds them that they are one week away to choose the person who will return to the ranch and compete again with other contestants.

While training, Bob suddenly gives them a surprise. He presents the two wildcards a picture of themselves when they started in the show.

Scott was 366 pounds. He says he looked like his father and already gave up that time. JJ was 392 pounds. He cries after saying he looked sad in the photo. Bob commends them that in just 13 weeks, they lost a lot of weight. He tells them to never forget their old selves. He says they do not need to burn the past. He tells both players to bury their pictures near the edge of a cliff. After burying the photos, they returned to Comeback Canyon.

Back in Hawaii, Jordan and Toma have so much fun in the helicopter. They take pictures, see rainbows up close and watch the beautiful fields, waterfalls and sea.

Meanwhile, Woody, Sonya and Jen are going to face their fears. They ride on a speedboat to go somewhere unknown. Jen starts to freak out while telling Sonya and Woody that they will dive on deep water. She tells them to start wearing the proper equipment.

Everyone is scared and nervous. Jen starts to cry because she never thought she will show a side of her that is full of fear. Sonya comforts her to face her fears because after all, Jen was one of the trainers who taught the contestants how to face their fears when they started in the competition. Woody cries while saying he loves Jen because she saved his life. He tells Jen they will face their fears together.

The three risktakers put on their goggles and snorkels and start on their diving experience. They overcome their fears and become fascinated with what they see on the bottom of the sea.

The weigh-in at the Comeback Canyon starts. JJ’s current weight is 292 pounds and lost 8 pounds. However, Scott lost the same amount of weight in his current 251 pounds. It means JJ did not beat Scott. JJ is eliminated for real.

While Ali and the trainers are waiting for the contestants on a beach, they see a couple of boats going in there direction. Turns out, the contestants are paddling their way to the weigh-in. People on the beach are fascinated.

Sonya is the first to have her weight checked. Her current weight is 183 pounds with 6 pounds difference. Her total weight loss is 3.17 percent.

After Rob’s weight flashed on the screen, the proud player cries tears of joy because of the whopping 12 pounds difference. His current weight is 338 pounds. His total percentage of weight loss is 3.43 percent.

Jordan only lost 6 pounds in his current weight of 227 pounds. Compared to Sonya, his total weight loss percentage is only 2.58 percent. He is in danger of elimination.

Woody feels the pressure because he is the last one, and he must beat Jordan’s percentage. His current weight is 294 pounds and howls when he sees he lost 12 pounds. Everyone is crying tears of joy with his biggest accomplishment yet. Woody remembers his deceased wife who is his inspiration. His total weight loss is 3.92 percent.

Jordan says goodbye. However, he is happy because he does not need the prize. He says he just wanted to have his life back. He is hopeful that it is not the end; it is just the beginning of his new journey.
