The Blacklist” Season 2 Episode 10 “No. 21: Luther Braxton- The Conclusion” aired last Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. on NBC. In this episode, both the FBI and Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) raced against time in order to rescue FBI Agent Elizabeth “Liz” Keen (Megan Boone) from Luther Braxton (Ron Perlman). Meanwhile, Braxton enlisted the aid of a psychologist in order to retrieve a particular memory buried in Liz’s past that would help him get his hands on The Fulcrum- a memory that had to do with the fire that had happened when she was younger. As Liz remembered the past, she discovered her past connection with Red and in the end discovered that she had more power in her hands than she ever realized. Read on to learn about this episode.

After “The Factory” was hit, FBI Agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) rescued Mossad Agent Samar Navabi (Mozhan Marno) from being strangled. Soon after, they were joined by Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader), who revealed that FBI Agent Elizabeth “Liz” Keen (Megan Boone) had been taken away by Luther Braxton (Ron Perlman). As they set about creating a distress signal so that someone would be able to rescue them, Yousef, who was still alive, tried to shoot them, but Master Sergeant Desmond shot him instead.

Meanwhile, Braxton and his men landed at River Grace Hospital in Alaska. They sedated Liz and drove off in an ambulance.

At first, Kat Goodson (Janel Moloney) from the CIA refused to send in any search and rescue parties as The Factory was a black site. They heard the distress signal from that precise location, and because they located Braxton through the FAA and the local Alaska police, FBI Assistant Director Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix), mobilized teams to both areas.

Meanwhile, Braxton’s men waterboarded Liz and managed to extract all the information that she could possibly remember about the night of the fire. Because of the fact that she probably buried and repressed that memory so deep, Braxton kidnapped a boy named Max Orchard. He is  the son of Dr. Selma Orchard (Gloria Reuben), who had helped him forget his own painful memories of the past before. He then told her that she was going to retrieve a memory from Liz’s mind so that he could get to The Fulcrum. When she had done so, they would let Max go free. She then made a list of all the equipment that they needed so that they would be able to achieve this.

At that moment, Braxton received a call from Red/ He threatened him and told him that he would catch up to him when he slipped up and made a mistake. When that happened, he would have the satisfaction of telling him “I told you so.” Afterwards, Samar informed Red that the world believed that he was dead. He then informed her to search for any psychologist or neurological doctors that could be connected to Braxton. They need to find that person, because whoever that person is would be a clue as to where Liz currently is.

Meanwhile, the Director of the CIA (David Strathairn) reassured the members of the Alliance that he had a team working on retrieving The Fulcrum, which would soon be with them.

At the task force headquarters, Aram Mojtabai (Amir Arison) hugged Samar. He informed them that Dr. Selma Orchard had treated Braxton once as he had been a soldier in the Gulf War years ago. They then went over to her house and discovered that there was no trace at all of the doctor or her son, whom they correctly deduced was already with Braxton.

Meanwhile, using hypnotherapy and several drugs, Dr. Orchard was able to get Liz to see the past in her memories. There, she was with a little girl named Lizzie, who was hiding in a closet with a pet rabbit in her hands. Her two parents were arguing about someone named Masha, whom the little girl said was Liz. Afterwards, she suddenly started laughing as she was chasing her rabbit. iTwas her brain’s way of trying to replace a bad memory with a good one. After the girl went into a man’s arms, she found herself in a hallway. she tried to look out the window, but couldn’t as the little girl stopped her and screamed. She then went into shock and was quickly calmed down. She then woke up and told them that she had seen her father.

Meanwhile, Red gathered all of Braxton’s known associates. He told them that he would spare them if they informed him if Braxton ever reached out to them. Soon afterwards, one of them informed Red that Braxton had asked for help in order to secure a place where he could meet someone discreetly and without being disturbed. After Red paid the man, he gave Red the address, after which he punched him unconscious and left.

At the FBI task force headquarters, Harold was called by his doctor. He was told to be in his office after work that day as he had his results from the laboratory. Afterwards, he instructed Ressler and Samar to go after a new lead, who is a medical student named Wilson Bishop had been contacted by Braxton.

While resting, Liz apologized to Dr. Orchard about everything and told her that she was alright with going under again. Braxton had given the doctor a 9:00 p.m. deadline to retrieve the information because she wanted to learn the truth about that night as well.

Meanwhile, Braxton met up with the Director and told him that the price for The Fulcrum had now gone up. After leaving the church that they had met up in, he ran right into Dembe and Red. He told him “I told you so” and forced him to bring him to Liz. After getting to Liz, Red then told Ressler that he was currently with Liz and instructed them to rescue Max.

Before Red had arrived, Liz had already gone under and heard a man and a woman arguing about someone named Masha and The Fulcrum. The man then said that it was the only thing that was currently keeping him alive. Red, who was assured that it was still safe for Liz to continue as she was still heavily stated, then began to guide her. Liz tried to go down the hall and tried to look out the window, but Red tried to stop her from going there. She fought back, and then relaxed after a bit. Red told her to focus on finding The Fulcrum. Afterwards, she found herself back in the closet after hearing a gunshot, and protected the little Lizzie from seeing anything bad. Then as smoke entered the closet, she told Lizzie to scream, which they both did. Then, all of a sudden, a man brought Liz out and ushered her out of the burning house. She then called for her father, who had fallen on the floor of the burning house. As she looked forward, she saw the shadow of a woman and saw Red. After waking up, she realized that he was there and that he had been there for The Fulcrum. She then blamed his group for the death of her father, whom she realized could not have survived the fire. She realized that Red was only connected to her because of The Fulcrum. She then told him to stop caring for her, and told him not to touch her at all because she did not know where it was. However, Red tried to explain that things weren’t really as they seemed as she had seen it in her memories, as her memories may have also been unreliable. She was then escorted out by Ressler. Dr. Orchard was also reunited with her son, Max, whom the FBI had rescued.

Afterwards, at the doctor’s office, Harold went to the doctor’s with his wife, and the two held each other, as his diagnosis was given.

Red then paid a visit to The Director. He showed him that he had hung Braxton as a gift, as he was “returning” Braxton to them. He then told him not to underestimate the fact that he was capable of destroying them, and warned The Director that he does have The Fulcrum.

Meanwhile, Dr. Orchard met up with Liz and told her that while Liz was under. Based on everything that happened that day, her responses and reactions, Dr. Orchard came to the conclusion that someone had tried to block Liz’s memory years ago. He reminded her that the people that she encountered while she went inside her memories were involved, but probably in “different roles.” She then told her that the only way that she would really know the truth about that night was to talk to the very people who did not want her to remember that night.

Later that night, in her room, Liz went through her old things, and picked up her old stuffed rabbit. After holding it in her hands, she realized that something was different in a particular area. She then ripped the rabbit open, and found a small black box wrapped in plastic. As she looked at it, she realized that she might just have The Fulcrum in her hands, and smiled.
