Ahead of the other networks, The CW has released the list of fall finale dates for its slate of shows. Read on for the details.

Every year around December, broadcast television takes its mandatory hiatus.  As the holidays roll in, shows usually have its downtime, allowing its cast and crew to celebrate the season with their families and loved ones. So after a favorable fall season that kicked off last October, The CW has announced the following fall finale dates for its handful of original shows. Not to worry, however, as these shows are expected to return and kickoff midseason beginning January.

The dates are as follows:

Monday, Dec. 8, 2014
8 p.m.: "The Originals"

Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014
8 p.m.: "The Flash"
9 p.m.: "Supernatural"

Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014
8 p.m.: "Arrow"

Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014
8 p.m.: "The Vampire Diaries"
9 p.m.: "Reign"

Monday, Dec. 15, 2014
9 p.m.: "Jane the Virgin"

Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014
9 p.m.: "The 100"

As always, expect these finales to have major cliffhangers and plot twists, as well as interesting guest appearances to keep viewers guessing and enticed in between the holidays.

The CW, while always last in the broadcast ranking due to the fact that it’s a smaller network with a niche market for youngsters, has been enjoying a good season this year.

According to Entertainment Weekly, its freshman series “The Flash” has become the most watched program of the season for the network, breaking all records among The CW’s slate. Much of this is credited to the convenience of DVR playback, which now logs the premiere of “The Flash” at 6.8 million viewers, surpassing the series premiere of “Arrow” last 2012. The show is a based on the DC comic book character and stars Grant Gustin.

Meanwhile, the network is also getting a lot of praises for its new series “Jane the Virgin,” which many critics have noted to be one of the best programs to arrive this season. The show is an adaptation of the Latina telenovela “Juana la Virgen” and is lead by breakout star Gina Rodriguez.
