The Flash movie is finally on its way! After a number of production hiccups, the script for the upcoming superhero movie has been completed and finalized.

Barry Allen’s Journey To The Big Screen

Things have not been smooth-sailing behind the scenes at Warner Bros. Both The Batman and The Flash solo movies are undergoing a number of pre-production issues as the studio grapples with consequently releasing disappointing offerings.

The Flash was announced way back in 2013, but fans were not happy when the studio cast Ezra Miller as Barry Allen. The CW already has a Scarlet Speedster in Grant Gustin and, of course, followers of the highly-rated television series want to see their Barry Allen in Justice League.

Then, the movie hit another major roadblock when Seth Grahame-Smith stepped down as the director, citing creative differences with Warner Bros. Work was again resumed when Rick Fumiyama came onboard, but he eventually also left the project due to similar reasons.

Barry Allen’s solo movie is still without a director. Matthew Vaugh (Kingsman: The Secret Service) and Robert Zemeckis (Cast Away) are rumored to be in talks to helm the project. It still also does not have a release date as of this writing.

There is hope: a user from Reddit revealed to the community of r/DCEULeaks that the script of The Flash movie has been finalized. The script also has gone through a number of drafts and rewrites over the years and the studio finally found the story they wanted to tell.

“The script has been completed and approved after MANY drafts and rewrites,” said the poster. Moreover, despite the fact that Barry Allen will fight alongside Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) in Justice League, his solo movie will be all about keeping his superhuman speed on the down low. “The studio has finally approved a very good script, with some calling it ‘a perfect coming of age story regarding a young man trying to control his power.”

However, the studio still has not found the perfect director for the movie. “There have not been that much more conversation regarding this film, although they have been very excited,” the post added.

Comic Book Arc

The post also shared that the script is based on a popular comic book series, but failed to specify which. “Apparently the script was “heavily” influenced by a specific comic story,” it said. The movie was also given an “interesting” nickname but that was not divulged either.

The Reddit thread also detailed information about other projects currently in development like The Batman which Matt Reeves has not started yet. Green Lantern was said to be DCEU’s answer to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Next week’s Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot and directed by Patty Jenkins is making executives and partners very happy. A sequel has allegedly already been approved!

Warner Bros. is yet to confirm whether this new information are accurate. It is best to take the report with a grain of salt.

Justice League Movie

In the meantime, Miller will make his superhero debut later this year in Justice League. Inspired by Superman’s (Henry Cavill) last selfless sacrifice to save humanity in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Batman forms a league of heroes with Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) to defeat a powerful threat.

The movie also stars Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons, Jesse Eisenberg, Connie Nielsen, J.K. Simmons, Willem Defoe, Amber Heard, Kiersey Clemons, Diane Lane and Billy Crudup. Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League will land on the big screen on Nov. 17.
