New Line Cinema finally releases the latest and final trailer for the third and final installment of Peter Jackson's "Hobbit" trilogy, “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies." Read on to learn more about it.
According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the third and final installment, which is part of the three-part film adaptation based on “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien, will bring to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield, and the company of Dwarves.
"The Battle of the Five Armies" will feature them as they try to reclaim their homeland, from the dragon Smaug, which the Company has mistakenly unleashed a deadly force into the world. The enraged Smaug puts his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town. Thorin's obsession over his reclaimed treasure made him sacrifice friendship and honor to hoard it. Bilbo's frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice.
The Wizard Gandalf who sees greater dangers lie ahead unlike any other. The great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain. As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide: unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends in the epic Battle of the Five Armies as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.
The fantasy epic is directed by Peter Jackson and written by Jackson, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, and Guillermo del Toro, based on "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is produced by New Line Cinema, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and WingNut Films and is to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and stars Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield, Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug and the Necromancer/Sauron, Orlando Bloom as Legolas, Luke Evans as Bard, Lee Pace as Thranduil, Hugo Weaving as Elrond, Cate Blanchett as Galadriel and Christopher Lee as Saruman.
