It’s been more than a decade since the first movie, but the next film in the “The Incredibles” series is finally in the works. While the Pixar production house has nixed the possibility of a trailer showing up this year, the director, Brad Bird, has revealed that he is already brainstorming on the concept. He says that he has a lot of ideas that he had planned to use in the first film but didn’t and would like to experiment with them.
“The Incredibles 2” has gone into pre-production it seems. The story is supposed to work the family angle with the superhero aspect taking the sidelines. “For me, the interesting thing was never the superhero part of it. It was more the family dynamic, and how do superhero things play into that,” Bird said.
A fan made rumor had previously surfaced about a trailer for the movie being released this year, but it has been proven false by other fans. Pixar has not addressed the issue yet. Many believe that the most fitting date for the release may be sometime in 2016.
The details of the story doing rounds aren’t clear enough to make a solid idea of what the plot of the film would be like. As we said before, the story is still in pre-production now. But fans have their own theories about what the next film will be about. One of the strongest theory put forth suggests that Jack Jack, the little baby from the first movie, who will be 6 years old in “The Incredibles 2”, will eventually turn out to be the villain, because of his inability to control his powers. There are a few rumors doing rounds about the release dates planned for the movie too. Many fans believe that it might hit theaters in November 2017, or June 2018.
VCPost claims that more details about the film will be revealed in the coming months.
