The Last of Us 2 recently released trailer reveals new love interest of the lead character Ellie. It will also reveal the game’s connection with Theseus and several other updates. Naughty Dog released the trailer at the time of PlayStation Experience. It also triggered off different rumors regarding the storyline of the much-awaited for the sequel.

The Last of Us 2 May Have LGBT Character

According to a new theory, the upcoming sequel may introduce a new LGBT character who will play the love interest of Ellie. The spoilers tease several theories with the main focus on the love life of the lead character. Another speculation is that the sequel’s storyline will be closer to the Theseus’ Greek mythology, reports iDigital Times.

User Briana White revealed that the trailer shows a poster on Ellie’s wall written as Theseus on it. According to the user, there is a strong possibility that The Last of Us 2 story might be connected to the Greek mythology. It may relate how Theseus conquered Minotaur and saved Athens.

Ellie’s Revenge on Fireflies

According to the latest theory based on the trailer, Ellie may be planning her vengeance the Fireflies. In the story, they want to use themselves as the cure that is causing infection. Prior to the release of The Last of Us 2 trailer, game director Neil Druckmann did hint that the sequel’s theme will be hate. Even Ellie’s eyes in the poster seem to display anger and hatred.

However, interestingly, one of the LGBT characters from the group of Fireflies will serve as the love interest of Ellie. And this love interest will help Ellie overcome the challenges of the group in the game. Fans are also speculating that Joel is not alive in the second installment of the game or at least will die at the start of the game. There are symbolic signs in the trailer that suggest the possibility of his death.

The common opinion is that the death of Joel may be one of the reasons why Ellie is so full of hatred and want to take revenge in the upcoming sequel.  Now, it would be interesting to see how the LGBT character betrays his group to help his love interest, Ellie.
