Following the success of Naughty Dog’s video game “The Last of Us”, a film adaptation is set to hit theaters soon. Are there developments of “The Last of Us” Movie so far? Read on for more details.

Naughty Dog is pretty mum about the developments of the “The Last of Us” Movie and news about it is pretty scarce. So far, these are the details that were revealed.

“The Last of Us” Movie Cast

“Game Thrones” actress Maisie Williams previously talked about the film during an interview with Digital Spy last April. She said that the making of the film and everything is still very early, implying that the producers seemed to be not ready to announce it before but was revealed prematurely.

“It was announced sort of prematurely almost in that I would love to play Ellie, they would love me to play Ellie. There’s no filming happening at this very second, so I cannot play Ellie at this very minute,” Williams said.

Williams also said that she would be around as Ellie when the filming comes.

“The Last of Us” Movie Concept Previewed?

However, concepts about the “The Last of Us” Movie might have been previewed in advance by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s post-apocalyptic “Maggie” released last May 8 in the U.S. It reportedly gave a “The Last of Us” feel, which featured a bearded Schwarzenegger playing as a father who was trying to protect his daughter (Abigail Breslin) in the time of a zombie outbreak, GameSpot reported.

Differences between the films do exist, but the general tone of the two reportedly looked similar. This was not a surprise as “Maggie” director Henry Hobson also took the helm as the director for the “The Last of Us” title sequence.

“The Last of Us” Movie Script In Second Draft

Programmer Neil Druckman previously shared about the status of “The Last of Us” Movie script. He said that it went really well.

“I just finished a second draft, and we did a table read with a bunch of actors. Pretty faithful to the game,” he told Game Informer.

Druckman also said that the film will have some big changes, but it will stay faithful to the game.

As for the release date of “The Last of Us” Movie, Naughty Dog is yet to make an official statement.
