Chandler’s family had to run and hide after they were discovered by Avocet. Meanwhile, the Executive Officer Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin) and his men fought to reclaim their ship from Granderson’s men. Read on to learn more about this episode.
Just as Dr. Hamada (Marcus Choi) got ready to remove the stem cells from the baby of Lt. Kara Foster (Marissa Neitling) with a syringe, Lt. Carlton Burk (Jocko Sims) signaled Lt. Danny Green (Travis van Winkle) to cut the power at the power plant. Because of this, while Dr. Hamada got things ready to proceed with the procedure, using lamps for light, Amy Granderson (Alfre Woodard) ordered her men to the power plant. She also ordered her guards to get her daughter, Lt. Junior Grade Alisha Granderson (Christine Elmore), who took advantage and began to run.
As the guards left, the warlord leader Thorwald (Titus Welliver) and his men blasted a hole from underneath the Avocet building in order to get in.
Dr. Hamada’s assistant then helped free Kara. She was the one who stabbed Hamada with the syringe, and was rescued by Tex Nolan (John Pyper-Ferguson) and Dr. Rachel Scott (Rhona Mitra). After meeting up with Commander Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) and his men, Tex made sure that Kara and Rachel got away safely underground, and Tex went back to help the others out.
On the USS Nathan James, as all the guards and the helicopter went back to Baltimore, Petty Officer Third Class O’ Connor (Paul James), Seaman Miller (Kevin Michael Martin) and Cruz (Ness Bautista) managed to get to the armory and geared up. Executive Officer Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin) signaled them from inside the room where the cameras and lights were. Together, they managed to free the crew inside the mess hall by shooting Granderson’s men. They then gave the rest of the crew guns so that they could reclaim their ship. It also turned out that thanks to Culinary Specialist 2 Bernie “Bacon” Cowley (Amen Igbinosun), they were able to get out of their bonds, as he had a hidden knife up his sleeve.
At the power plant, Green fired on Granderson’s men from a high vantage point and threw a grenade in order to escape. However, Granderson’s men managed to get the power back on. Master Chief Hugh Jeter (Charles Parnell) then picked up Green, after making sure that Jed Chandler (Bill Smitrovich) and Chandler’s children were safely on their way to the rally point in an Avocet van after they were discovered by Avocet guards, whom they gunned down.
Alisha then tried to evacuate the civilians, but some turned on them as her mother claimed that those in Navy uniforms were traitors. Tex then managed to free the other civilians who wanted out. Green and Jeter managed to get to Alisha, who had accidentally gotten shot in the stomach, and brought her underground so that her wound would get treated.
Burk managed to secure the lab, and a dying Thorwald who had gotten shot by Granderson’s guard told Chandler that she was up on the roof. While she escaped, she discovered that the USS Nathan James had been recaptured by its crew after Slattery, who ended up killing Lt. Pete Norris (Derek Cheetwood) asked her to surrender. Up on the roof, thanks to Chandler, she called off the attack on them and killed herself using Hamada’s cocktail.
Back on the ship, Rachel discovered that the primordial strain had been hidden well on the roof of the bridge.
Chandler then welcomed his family on board the Nathan James. He told them that they would fix things in Baltimore, then head to Norfolk so that the crew could look for their families.
It was also discovered that Alisha had survived and was recuperating at the makeshift medical bay.
As Chandler and Slattery looked out on O’ Connor and the others who were paying their respects to their fallen comrades, Chandler commented on how this is now their home.
