“The Legend of Korra” Season 4 Episode 7 “Reunion” aired last Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, on the Nickelodeon website and app. In this episode, Bolin (PJ Byrne) and Varrick (John Michael Higgins), who were on their way to Republic City after escaping from Kuvira (Zelda Williams), encountered a band of non-Earth benders who had escaped after being imprisoned in one of Kuvira’s reeducation camps. Meanwhile, Avatar Korra (Janet Varney), Mako (David Fasutino) and Asami Sato (Seychelle Gabrielle) were finally reunited. However, their reunion turned into an adventure as Mako’s charge, Prince Wu (Sunil Malhotra), had been kidnapped. Read on to learn more about this episode.

At the beginning of the episode, Jinora (Kiernan Shipka), Opal (Alyson Stoner), Meelo (Logan Wells), Ikki (Darcy Rose Byrne) and Avatar Korra (Janet Varney) arrived on Air Temple Island, where the airbender children were reunited with their parents, Tenzin (J.K. Simmons) and Pema (Maria Bamford). Korra was finally reunited with her polar bear dog, Naga. Opal then informed Tenzin that Kuvira had captured her entire family in Zaofu, and Korra told Tenzin that she felt that she had failed them as she was not able to defeat Kuvira. However, Tenzin reassured her that they would all team up together to figure out how to stop Kuvira. They also learned that Korra and the others did not know where exactly Bolin (PJ Byrne) was.

Bolin was busy carrying Varrick (John Michael Higgins) through the Earth Kingdom forest, as Varrick was used to Zhu Li carrying him around. Bolin then reminded Varrick that they were trying to get to Republic City as fast as they could in order to make amends for the damage that they had done with Kuvira, as Kuvira had fooled them both. Because of his inspiring words, Varrick decided that it was now his turn to carry Bolin, like he did for him. However, after taking several steps, they got caught in a net. They were then greeted by several water and fire benders who dropped them from the high tree branch they were in and were not gentle with them, as Varrick had told them that they used to be in Kuvira’s inner circle.

Korra met up with Asami Sato (Seychelle Gabrielle) and Mako (David Fasutino) at a restaurant. However, they weren’t alone, as Mako could ditch his charge and boss, Prince Wu (Sunil Malhotra). While they waited for their food, Prince Wu asked Korra and requested that she go into the Avatar State for him. Asami then asked Korra if she could finally go into the Avatar State again, as she had before that she could not go into the Avatar State. Mako was surprised and a little bit hurt that Korra had not bothered to write a small note to him and Bolin. Asami then surprised everyone by telling them that she had finally gathered enough courage to start forgiving her father, as he had been writing her letters. Korra was wary, and at that, Asami told her that she had no right to “disappear for three years” and say what is good for her. Their discussion, however, was interrupted by Prince Wu, who asked Mako to go with him to the bathroom. However, Mako told him to go on his own for once. When the prince got to the bathroom, he was immediately knocked out by the servant in the bathroom who drugged him using cologne.

As Prince Wu was taking quite some time to go to the bathroom, Mako decided to check him. To his dismay, he could not find the prince in the bathroom. Korra, on a hunch, followed a man taking out laundry and discovered the prince among the laundry bags inside the truck. Thanks to Asami’s knowledge of the city streets, which she mostly built, they were able to catch up to the truck. However, only the driver was inside, who revealed to them that the prince was on his way to Kuvira. In order to figure out where exactly Prince Wu was, Korra used a spirit vine to look for the prince’s energy. Thanks to that, she discovered that Wu was on his way to the train station. On the way to the station, she told them that she had met Toph Beifong, who was a crankier and more miserable version of Lin Beifong, Toph’s daughter, and the Chief of Police of Republic City. At the train station, the trio decided to split up in order to find Prince Wu.

Back in the Earth Kingdom, Bolin and Varrick learned that the fire benders and water benders had come from reeducation camps, as Kuvira had been purging the Earth Kingdom of anyone who wasn’t originally from the Earth Kingdom. This news came a shock to both Varrick and Bolin. After a while, the group realized that Varrick and Bolin were indeed telling the truth, and decided to work together to get out of the border checkpoint. However, it was going to be a huge risk, as both Varrick and Bolin were fugitives and wanted by Kuvira.

At the checkpoint, they were able to get past the first guards. However, halfway through the checkpoint, the guards inside recognized Bolin and Varrick from the posters and sent the guards and mecha tanks to fight them. Luckily, Varrick was able to create an EMP blast which short circuited the mecha tanks, thanks to some machinery that was available in an empty security room. However, even if they could make a run for Republic City, Bolin came back to help the others escape the checkpoint.

Back at the train station, Korra, who had felt the floor in order to feel for the prince’s energy, told Mako and Asami to quickly board a particular train, which started to move after a few seconds. Mako then started to argue with Korra as he was not sure if he should be trusting her “feeling” that the prince was there.

As soon as they found the prince in the luggage compartment, Earth Kindgom soldiers came towards them and fought them. The group then allowed themselves to be chased after on the roof of the train. Korra then encased them in an air bubble so that they could jump off the train to safety. The trio then apologized for getting on each other’s nerves and hugged each other, as their little adventure was exactly like old times. They then decided to leave the prince with Mako’s family, who was currently living in Asami’s huge mansion.

Meanwhile, in the outskirts of the Earth Kingdom, the water and fire benders invited Varrick and Bolin to go with them as they were all headed up north.

While this happened, Kuvira and Batar Jr. (Todd Haberkorn) discovered that the spirit vines in Toph’s swamp were very powerful. Kuvira then gave the order to harvest the entire swamp and forest of all the spirit vines that they could find.
