“The Lottery” Season 1 Episode 2 “Rules of the Game” airs on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at 10:00 p.m. on Lifetime. Kyle and Elvis temporarily live in a friend’s home, while Alison got kidnapped! “The Lottery” Season 1 Premiere Episode 1 “Pilot” was directed by Danny Cannon and written by Timothy J. Sexton. The episode started off with the premise of the current global infertility problem that hinders women to get pregnant since 2016.
They succeeded in several attempts after three years, but they only got six newborn babies. One of them was six-year-old Elvis, who was diagnosed with diabetes. His father was a recovering alcohol addict named Kyle (Michael Graziadei). Things weren’t easy when you’re just one of those kids in a literally adult-dominated world. Elvis later called in sick to his single father. When Kyle went to the Pittsburgh Hospital, Kyle immediately fled the place with his son.
Ten years later, Dr. Alison Lennon (Marley Shelton) and James (David Alpay) finally found a scientific breakthrough in fertilizing 100 human eggs. Alison’s mission was to get the needed sperm donors from a top-secret list. She seduced each man for her work inside the U.S. Fertility Facility. Unfortunately, the newly elected U.S. Fertility Commission director, Darius Hayes (Martin Donovan), relieved her from her services, while James chose to stay for the project.
The President of the United States (Yul Vazquez) found the essential key in controlling his power over his citizens. He agreed to the advice of his Chief of Staff Vanessa Keller (Athena Karkanis) to held a national lottery events for the said fertilized eggs. On the other hand, Vanessa’s brother continued to manipulate desperate couples in buying his fake fertility drugs.
Back to Alison, she went to find Brooke Ashton’s name among the confidential egg donors. She did track her Brooke and told her about the possibility on getting back her own “baby.” Alison even made James drunk in order to use his code to put Brooke’s name among the surrogates. The young woman also called for her lawyer about their plan.
Later, Alison learned that she was already too late. Brooke’s mysterious death was considered as suicide by the authorities, but Alison didn’t want to believe the news. Alison also met with the man who talked to the victim’s when she was still away. It was also revealed that Kyle was the one who fertilized Brooke’s egg.

The government will continue to discuss on how they would benefit from the lottery in the future. Kyle, on the other hand, will have to help Elvis battle his diabetic attacks at one of Kyle’s trusted friends. Can they stay there without any more problems? Will Elvis be relived from all of the pain he suffered?
