“The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials” trailer received 12 times more than the views the original movie has gained. The film first hit 12 million views after 24 hours it has been posted online.
The YA franchise sequel is led by Dylan O’Brien, according to a report from TheWrap. Statistics showed a comparison between the performances of the two trailers released. “Scorch Trials,” the first trailer posted online, we can see O’Brien along with Ki Hong Lee and Kaya Scodelario and the rest of the Gladers. The trailer then got a total of 12 million views which was higher compared to the “Maze Runner” trailer released in 2013.
Social media also played a significant role in the rapid hit of “The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials” online. This was after it has received 158,000 mentions after it was released 24 hours. The numbers that the trailer has gotten was up by 232% compared to the first trailer of the film when it was released at the same period.
In the trailer, we can see Thomas played by O’Brien and the rest of the Gladers facing a great challenge. They were to search for clues that would eventually lead them to the powerful and mysterious group called WCKD. Because of their hunt, their journey has led them to the Scorch which is a desolate wasteland. The Scorch is more than challenging compared to a maze as seen in “The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials” trailer.
Along with O’Brien, stars including Nathalie Emmanuel and Aidan Gillen are also part of “The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials” movie. The two are also part of the hit HBO series, “Games of Thrones.” The movie was based in the novels written by James Dashner and T.S. Nowlin has once again written screenplay. “The Maze Runner” has been planned to be released as a trilogy and will hit theaters on September 18.
