The finale of the second season brought several things to a close, and opened new doors to tell more stories for the third season.
In the final moments of the second season, the Comte de Rochefort (Marc Warren), the second season’s villain, perished; D’artagnan (Luke Pasqualino) and Constance Bonacieux (Tamla Kari) got married; and a war was announced, which caused Athos (Tom Burke), to become the new captain as Treville (Hugo Speer)was the new Minister for War. Also, Aramis (Santiago Cabrera) had pledged to become a priest, but everyone knows that that wouldn’t last long, as war is coming to France.
Now, with all of those happening in the second season, what is to be expected of the third season, and who will be the new villains for the upcoming season?
According to BBC, actor Rupert Everett has already signed on to portray Philippe Achille, the Marquis de Feron, Louis XIII’s (Ryan Gage) illegitimate brother and the new villain for the third season. The Marquis de Feron is also described as a corrupt governor during that time period in Paris.
However, he won’t be the only villain, as BBC has also announced, according to Digital Spy, that Matthew McNulty will be portraying an ambitious criminal and money lender named Lucien Grimaud who will go against our favorite Musketeers.
According to Spoiler TV, the actors have already began to shoot some of the episodes, and have announced that Adrian Hodge will not be returning to the show for the third season.
It was also recently announced on Spoiler TV that actress Thalissa Teixeira will be portraying a new character named Sylvie, and will debut that character in the second episode entitled “The Hunger”.
