Check out “The Night Shift” Season 1 recap of Episode 4 “Grace Under Fire.”

It’s Jordan’s birthday and she was looking forward to celebrating her birthday with her boyfriend Scott. However, all her excitement went down the drain when she got a phone call from Scott who told her that her celebration would happen next week, instead. The good thing is that the team made Jordan feel special by giving her gifts until a Christian Scientist (Kenneth Mitchell) arrives and was wounded. But the guy was wearing a “do not treat” bracelet, which Jordan cuts off. Jordan knows that it wasn’t the right thing to do but she was so desperate to save the guy’s life.

Jordan did not fully understand the whole situation, which got her suspended. It turns out that you should treat a person especially if they have harmed themselves physically without their consent. Landry was trying to assess the man’s mental stability while Ragosa was not pleased with what needs to be done.

During their shift, Landry and Jordan shared a few run-ins. Jordan was mad at Landry for not telling her about her relationship with TC and they also argued over George, the Christian Scientist because they have different beliefs on the matter. Landry is a strong believer of personal freedom and that is when Jordan revealed to her about her father who died when she was still a teen because he just wanted to pray over his illness and her mom allowed her father to do so. It was very difficult for Jordan to see her father die because his case was treatable.

Meanwhile, they were able to figure out that George was bipolar and confused. They also found out that he went to church after quitting lithium. However, if you are quitting lithium it should be under proper supervision, which is why that certain medication is prescribed. George was very happy that he was saved.

Drew was out of Texas, doing some military drills, with him was a homophobic, talking to him about his worries that men in the field will only be thinking about sex instead of what really matters. However, Drew spoke his mind but things got a bit rigorous that Charlie decided to shoot things, which caused the Humvee to overturn, almost killing them.

Ragosa took some pills that he found from Landry’s desk, and his headache was gone, and he got groovy right after taking it. It turns out that he took Ecstasy pills, Landry was working with it to treat PTSD patients. We also found out the truth on why Jordan came to San Antonio, and it was because of TC. His PTSD was so bad when he came back from war that they went through hell together.

The episode ended with Jordan receiving a call from his boyfriend telling her to come out and when she did, he was there with a cupcake. It made her very happy because at least someone remembered that it was her birthday.
