Previously on Episode 2 “The Box” (air date: July 20, 2014) Gus (Miguel Gomez) succeeded in transporting the ancient coffin from the John F. Kennedy airport. Jim (Sean Astin), Eph’s right-hand man, let him pass the security check. They were both asked by a mysterious man as part of a grand plan.
In Episode 3 “Gone Smooth” (air date: July 27, 2014), the four remaining survivors of the Regis Flight 753 finally transformed into blood-sucking vampires. They previously created havoc to their loved ones after they were released by CDC Director Dr. Everett Barnes (Daniel Kash). Thomas Eichorst (Richard Sammel) also joined the “vampire party” when he revealed his true self.
Ansel (ikolai Witschl), one of the survivors, quenched his thirst for blood with a piece of raw meat. A shocked family member noticed it. Remember the girl from the last episode? Eph (Corey Stoll) visited their home and found no trace of her and her father. Gabe almost removed one of the attendee’s jaw at his music gig. Captain Doyle and lawyer Joan Huss (Leslie Hope) displayed some other symptoms.
Eph (Corey Stoll) battled with his personal problems again. He attended the hearing regarding Zach (Ben Hyland), his son, with his ex-wife Kelly (Natalie Brown). He coached him in order to get his custody on his son, but the kid wanted to tell the truth. Zach confessed that his father was too engrossed with his work at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention or the CDC in New York.
Jim was now weighing his guilt over the illegal shipment. He wanted to tell the authorities about his connection about the case. Eichorst stopped him and gave him his share of the money for doing the job. Meanwhile, Fet the Exterminator (Kevin Durand) became interested with the past events. He noted that the mouse and other pests in the New York sewers continued to double their number at an alarming rate.
Back to the outbreak case, the conditions of the survivors continued to get worse. Nora (Mia Maestro) tried to learn more about it through Abraham (David Bradley). She got confused and Abraham sought a hacker to get the details about the flight. Jim found a fully transformed Captain Doyle scavenging for blood bags. Eph arrived at the scene and smashed Doyle’s head with a fire extinguisher.
SPOILER ALERT: “The Strain” Season 1 Episode 4 “It’s Not for Everyone” is directed by Keith Gordon and written by Regina Corrado.
According to TV Guide, the latest “Strain” episode will feature the aftermath of Jim’s decision to help Eichorst with his plans. The expensive bills for his cancer-stricken wife made him do the desperate deed. On the other hand, Ansel will do everything to save his wife and family.
