This is the first time for the cast of “The Vampire Diaries” to attend the San Diego Comic-Con 2105 without Nina Dobrev! “TVD” Season 7 has just started filming a few days ago so no footage was shared but Ian Somerhalder who plays Damon Salvatore, Paul Wesley as Stefan Salvatore spilled some juicy spoilers for what’s to come on The CW’s hit supernatural series. Read on for more details.
According to Us Weekly, “The Vampire Diaries” creator Julie Plec said that Dobrev’s absence this season is bittersweet yet “TVD” fans know that Elena isn’t gone. Plec said that “she’s just sleeping in a coffin for the next couple of years.” It was until Bonnie dies because they are somehow linked in a supernatural way, of course.
Kat Graham, who plays Bonnie said, “I thought it was a really clever way to keep Elena there and keep her presence there and keep the door open in a lot of ways for her to come back. But it also created an interesting dynamic going into Season 7 for Bonnie and Damon and them to have to deal with the fact that Bonnie’s alive and Elena’s not.”
Somerhalder also revealed that the bad Damon is back on “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7. Damon may have changed the past few seasons but not that the love of his life is gone, he’s going back to bad.
“It’s the old f****** Damon, the Damon that we really fell in love with. That’s the goal – let’s bring that back, that energy, that sexy, volatile, fun, scary, dangerous – and a lot of that s*** that made you guys fall in love with him to begin with. I’m bringing it back!,” Somerhalder said.
The only couple left in Mystic Falls on “TVD” Season 7 is Stefan and Caroline (Candice Accola). Fans can expect that this season, this two will finally figure things out and get together already!
If Kai is one of the best villains “The Vampire Diaries” has ever had, executive producer Caroline Dries says that on Season 7, the cast will be facing a new batch of villains in the form of The Herectics. It is the group of vampire-witch hybrids led by Lily, Damon and Stefan’s mother and there are also new female villains coming to town.
One last burning question, though, is this the last season for “The Vampire Diaries?”
“I do not see the show ending after next season. I think we’ve got more story to tell and I think we’ve built this gorgeous family that’s not ready to split up yet.” Plec said.
However, she made it clear that she already knows how the series will end if the time comes.
