Now that Elena (Nina Dobrev) is gone in “The Vampire Diaries” what’s going to be the show’s ”love” focus? So far, there is one couple left standing after everything that happened in the Season 6 finale: Stefan and Caroline.

Candice Accola, who plays Caroline Forbes in the hit Vampire TV series shared her thoughts on Stefan and Caroline as well as being the strongest candidate to be the series’ main, “It’s a nice payoff to see them together. I like that she’s taking that time for herself. I think it shows maturity in her character,” she said.

Stefan and Caroline’s relationship in the show is slowly blossoming yet some fans actually thought that Caroline would run to Stefan’s arms following her mom’s death, but she didn’t. According to Caroline Dries, the executive producer of the show, “She’s still coping after her mother’s death and her humanity being off; she’s not feeling like herself. In Season 7, she’s going to try and figure out if she and Stefan can actually do this.”

With that being said, this only means that the focus next season will shift towards Stefan and Caroline, which is really a good thing because it’s something new to explore and their chemistry onscreen is really very strong. Also, after 6 seasons with Elena’s lovelife always being the main focus of the show, it’s nice to finally see a different one this time around.

What do you think of Steroline? Are you excited for their relationship next season? Do you think the two of them will finally give in and be together? Let us know by posting your comments below!
