The midseason finale of “The Walking Dead” Season 5 Episode 8 “Coda” was composed of twists and deaths. As usual, it did not disappoint. Read on for the full recap.

Rick has hostages of his own while the officers of Grady Memorial Hospital have theirs too. An exchange was bound to happen, which would also bring in some action.

Rick was really becoming a different person when he shot Officer Lampson in the head. We also found out where Father Gabriel was heading — he went to a elementary school to see the apocalypse himself. His faith in humanity was crushed when he realized that cannibalism was really happening, and it opened his eyes to what’s really going after hiding inside the church for months.

Just when Carl and Michonne finished trapping the walkers inside the church, Abraham and his group appeared and told them that their trip to Washington was not a trip to hope for. They got reunited as well with Rick’s group, and they all went to the hospital to rescue Beth and Carol. Carol was doing fine now by the way.

Beth and Dawn had a confrontation, and she tried to stab her with a pair of scissors. However, Dawn was quicker and shot her in the head. We saw Daryl carrying her lifeless body outside the hospital.

What do you think of Beth’s death and Father Gabriel’s faith crisis? What would be the group’s next move? Let us know by posting your comments below!
