“The Walking Dead” Season 5 Episode 6 "Consumed" focused on Daryl and Carol. There were also flashbacks that helped us understand the struggle in the apocalypse. Read on to learn more about this episode.
When we saw Daryl coming out of the bushes, we wondered who was with him. We didn’t get an answer until "Consumed" aired. We also had Carol being wheeled in Grady Memorial Hospital where Beth was. And now, we know how she ended up there.
Daryl and Carol followed the white-cross car that they saw, and it led them to Atlanta. When they got there, they ran out of gas. They then decided to spend the night somewhere and look for signs of white-cross people in the morning. However, the next day, there were a lot of walkers everywhere that they got forced to get inside another building, which was again infested with walkers but were much more tolerable than those outside. While in the building, they saw an abandoned van a couple of blocks away that belonged to the white-cross group.
When they got in to the van, they found out that it was hanging off a bridge. They still went inside to look for clues. However, walkers came right at them, and they had no choice but to shut themselves inside and make the van fall off the bridge. Luckily, the van didn’t even topple over when it landed, but Carol sustained a shoulder injury.
There were also a number of flashbacks about Carol’s life when she got banished by Rick, and we found out that she never really strayed too far from the family that she’s known ever since the apocalypse. She was always around, near the people that she learned to love.
Back in the building, Carol and Daryl encountered Noah. Amidst the chaos, no one really trusts anyone, and Noah tried to escape from them and even hurt Carol in the process because he sees them as a threat. Noah was badly injured. When they got to talk because Daryl saved his life, they realized that he knows Beth, and they’re all after her to help her out and save her.
Carol saw a white-cross car, and they all tried to run towards another building. However, Noah’s leg was in a bad shape, and Daryl had to get him. He told Carol to go on, so Carol did. But she got run over by the van, and that’s the reason why she ended up in the Grady Memorial Hospital.
