The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan Will Star in Upcoming Horror Flick ‘The Boy’

While things are a little still with AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” one of the series’ lead (who hasn’t died yet), Lauren Cohan, has been cast to star in her first feature film — “The Boy.” Read on to know more about the details of this scoop.

Everybody’s hearts were shredded to pieces as they sympathized with Maggie when she broke down after seeing Daryl (Norman Reedus) emerge from outside the building, carrying the lifeless body of her sister Beth (Emily Kinney). That was the last everybody saw of Maggie and the actress who played her, Lauren Cohan. She has been known to be an iconic TV actress with the way she got featured in high-rated shows like “Chuck,” “Supernatural,” “The Vampire Diaries” prior to her landing one of the lead roles in AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” However, after a series of playing as an extra in big screen movies, she finally lands a lead role in a movie that doesn’t stray the path of the wicked. Instead of zombies (or walkers in the show’s term), she will now be facing a demonic doll in “The Boy.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a horror movie entitled “The Boy,” from the creative collaboration of Lakeshore and Vertigo Entertainment, has chosen “The Walking Dead” star Lauren Cohan as its lead actress. The film will be helmed by William Brent Ball, and it centers on a Nanny who was hired by a not-so-average couple to tend over their lifelike doll, which they treat as a real child. The doll is basically a therapy for the couple as they continue to grieve over their lost child. Despite the bizarreness, she obliges. However, as time passes, the nanny becomes suspicious and begins to fear that there is more life to the doll than the death it has been brought in for.

The script was developed by Stacey Menear. It is also produced by Lakeshore’s Gary Lucchesi and Tom Rosenberg, Vertigo’s Roy Lee and Adam Stone, along with Jim Wedaa.

So far, only Lauren Cohan’s involvement has been confirmed, but more news about the development soon.
