“The X-Files” series is returning to TV screens next year after a wide break of 14 years. The iconic leads of the series, Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) are back again. Read to know more details.
“The X-Files” is one of the longest science fiction series that aired in television from September 1993 to May 2002. It is reported that the series is coming back in TV as a mini-series early next year, after a 14-year break.
Entertainment Weekly (EW) has disclosed the first glimpse of the iconic lead roles – Mulder and Scully in the new version of the series. The original stars Duchovny and Anderson play the lead roles. The source revealed a very brief plot details, as well as about few other casts of the mini-series.
Chris Carter, the show’s director and creator, hesitated to reveal all the complete cast list of the TV show. However, he revealed the names of a few casT but kept the others in secret to give us some surprises.
Mulder and Scully’s gruff FBI boss Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) and the Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davis) will also be back in this new version of the series. The smoking man will continue to bury the truth even in this new version. Find out for yourself whether Walter and Mulder remain friendly when the mini-series is released.
Joining the original stars, Joel McHale and “The Americans'” Annet Mahendru will be the newcomers. McHale will play the role of Tad O’Malley, a conservative talk show host. On the other hand, Mahendru will play as Sveta who believes that she is regularly being snatched by aliens.
