Creator of the classic horror flick “Evil Dead” Sam Raimi produces a remake of the 1982 horror film “Poltergeist” and everything just feels terrifyingly nostalgic. Read on to know more about the details of this preview.
The original “Poltergeist” was based on a premise of having a television connect with what started as a friendly interaction with beings on the other side through the television. Of course, just when the introduction is over, the menace takes place as these other worldly beings begin to cause severe disturbance in the family and eventually kidnapping the family’s youngest daughter. They later on found out that they’ve been living over sacred burial grounds and ruined the peace of the ancient souls who resting there. In the 2015 remake of the “Poltergeist,” the premise remains the same but with a few alterations on the original narrative. Instead of the television set, they get a closet that became a door to the horrifying dimension.
Directed by Gil Kenan and produced by “Evil Dead” creator Sam Raimi, “Poltergeist” tells the story of a couple and their three children as they move into a new home. Things started out peachy and then it went from being weird to simply diabolical. Their youngest daughter has been abducted and they cannot call the cops for help. Instead, they call a paranormal specialist and they begin their fight for theirs and their daughter’s life.
According to Screen Rant, the film is carrying a PG-13 rating which makes people somewhat doubtful about the film’s capacity to really invoke terror and fear with a plausible storyline. It was especially because of the fact that it’s a remake of an old yet monumental film. It’s obvious that the remake closely follows the storyline of the original but they definitely have something different and surprising cooking up within the duration of the full-length film.
“Poltergeist” features the acting of Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie Dewitt, Kennedi Clements, Kyle Catlett and Carrigan Burke, among all others. It is set to open in theaters this July 24, 2015.
