A couple is expecting in the new episode of “Thicker Than Water: The Tankards” Season 2 Episode 2 “Pregnant Pause,” which aired last Jan. 11, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. on Bravo.
The episode kicks off with Ben saying that the Tankard women must admit their mistakes to stop their fight. He opens up about how hot hell is.
While the sisters are talking about their fight with Junice, Jewel shares that she wants to talk to Cyrene because she believes her daughter took Junice’s side. She feels betrayed with that. Junetta thinks the children forgive Junice’s mistakes to fill the void of her absence, and at the same time, they are aware that she and Jewel will never leave them.
Brooklyn is a proud working mother with her hair business. She usually stays up until 4:00 a.m. Ben suddenly wakes her up and makes an unusual smoothie of vegetables and raw egg. His daughter confides to him that she is thinking of creating a new eyelash line.
After trying to get pregnant since last year, Latisha tells Marcus that she thinks she is having a baby. The couple is excited.
About Brooklyn’s career movement, she gives a presentation at work about her new business proposal. Aside from eyelashes, she also wants to add clip-in extensions.
Going back to Jewel’s burden about Cyrene, she admits to her daughter that she is hurt about taking Junice’s side. Cyrene defends herself that she just thought Junice had a difficult time voicing out her side of the story. She feels torn because she also loves her Aunt Junice. Jewel emphasizes that she is her mother. She just wants some balance because Junice also made mistakes. Cyrene apologizes.
Meanwhile, Marcus meets Ben. He talks about his 30th birthday. He also shares about his pressure of starting a family. However, he has no intentions yet of telling his father that his wife is pregnant. Ben suddenly talks about his past with Marcus’s mother. He emphasizes that Marcus is never an illegitimate child, just illegitimate parents.
Latisha tells Marcus that it is too difficult to keep her pregnancy a secret. She notices that her husband is more nervous than she is. Marcus’s main reason for keeping it a secret is his family will expect him and Latisha to live with them again.
About Marcus’s birthday, Ben and Benji are looking for a timepiece as a gift. Ben purchases a $3,000 watch. He thinks the price is worth it because it is an important gift for a son he neglected in the past.
Cyrene has a burden that she feels Marcus will understand. She wants to date the opposite race, specifically white guys. Marcus confides to her that he was dating white girls in the past because black girls did not consider him as their type. He was kind of nerdy. He comforts Cyrene that she must not worry. He tells her that it is okay to bring a date.
In Marcus’s birthday party, Britney feels awkward being there because she feels indifferent with him. While everyone talks about the celebrant, she just describes him as a man with style and bowties. She is annoyed by the family tradition of considering parties a necessity, so she excuses herself that she has to go to work.
Suddenly, Cyrene nervously arrives with her date, who is a white guy. When Ben asked them what kind of relationship they are in, Cyrene answers it is just friendship. However, Ben’s follow-up question is if they are in an “exclusive friendship.” Then Jewel asks if they already official. Ben hopes the guy is not Cyrene’s boyfriend, but he is not disagreeing strongly about it. On the other hand, Jewel hopes that her daughter will never forget her values, especially about not having sex before marriage.
The real icing on top of the cake is Marcus and Latisha revealing that they are expecting a baby. Jewel is excited about it because the baby will compensate Cyrene’s absence when she goes to college.
