Aesop’s fable, “The Tortoise and the Hare” got some clever twist in the new Mercedes-Benz 60-second 2015 Super Bowl commercial. Take a look at the video clip below and be amazed.
In the thrilling Super Bowl XLIX 2015 “Fable,” the hare challenges the tortoise on race to prove who’s more awesome in the whole forest. The tortoise accepted the challenge, and both got ready for the big race. The hare even flashed a smile and took a selfie with his friends.
And the race began. The hare sped off, leaving the tortoise in walking slowly until he saw a Mercedes factory in the woods. The tortoise stopped by and saw the Mercedes-AMG engineers working on a sleek sportscar — that’s the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S, ladies and gentlemen. The tortoise drove a $100,000 car to beat the hare, and while at it, he managed to steal the hare’s girlfriend. Wicked!
The tortoise was the one who cheated in the race by riding 503 horses (the car) to beat the hare! Not a fairytale indeed! The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S was scheduled to be released on April 2015.
“There is an expectation among consumers that Super Bowl advertising will be entertaining, that it is at least equal parts entertainment as sell if not slightly more entertaining than sell. They are mini pieces of cinema,” Alex Gellert the man behind the ad told Adweek.
