Now that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk has been confirmed to appear in the upcoming “Thor: Ragnarok,” we know some serious damage is going to befall the enemies of the God of Thunder and that Hulk will make a significant contribution in the movie. But a major question remains and that being what role will Marvel choose for the Hulk in the movie. Here are 3 possibilities that Marvel can choose from while approaching Hulk’s role in “Thor: Ragnarok.”
According to Cinema Blend, Hulk took off quietly in one of the Quinjets to an unknown destination far away from the “Avengers,” where exactly did he land up remains unknown but with him being a part of “Thor: Ragnarok” and the movie set in a place which is neither Asgard nor Earth, there are a lot of possibilities with which the Hulk can enter the story. Firstly his destination was unknown and the jet just seemed to fly far out in the sky, there’s a chance that Hulk will depart Earth far out in space and reach a distant planet, which co-incidentally Thor will be visiting given his current problem. Either this or Heimdall will spot Hulk wandering around in the space and somehow divert him towards Asgard. Secondly once in Asgard and having met old pal Thor, maybe Hulk/Bruce Banner could seek some help from the technology in Asgard with respect to his anger issues. Remember his anger was the last thing that was going on in his mind and because of which he chose to go away, so maybe he could find some cure on Asgard about his condition.
Third possibility is after having found a cure to his anger problems and discovering a change within him when Surtur, the fire giant who is rumored to be the main villain in the movie attacks Asgard, Hulk could help Thor fight the fire giant and help in defending Asgard from the Norse apocalypse. Other than the physical aspect, Hulk could also turn back to Bruce and the latter could use his scientific mind to figure out a way to defeat the bad guy without any brute force.
Movie Pilot added that Loki who has been sitting on the throne in the form of Odin could pull Hulk towards Asgard to use him for his personal gains. In one of the storylines, he separated the Hulk from Bruce Banner and wrecked havoc on Asgard. So in “Thor: Ragnarok” Thor could once again fight only the Hulk and Bruce could still make a contribution with his mind. Whatever the green raging monster will be doing in the movie, once an official statement is made, it will all be cleared out. “Thor: Ragnarok” will release in 2017.
