It is in the center of a storm as it depicts God as a woman. This topic attracts strong debate among Christians and Tim finds himself in the middle of it.
The Shack tells a story about a distraught father Mackenzie Phillips (Worthington). He is under severe depression post the loss of his daughter. His daughter is kidnapped and killed and her body is been left at an abandoned shack.
One day he receives a letter from Papa who invites hi to meet at the same shack. He considers that the invitation has come from her killer and visits the shack. But to his dismay, he finds God in that abandoned shack.
Controversy begins when the Godhead or Papa is shown as an African-American Women name Elouisa. Meanwhile, the Holy Spirit is also portrayed by an Asian woman named Sarayu. Jesus, on the other hand, is shown as a male carpenter from Middle East.
