As things are finally set for the Golden Globe Awards, Universal planned a release that would liven up and increase the anticipation of the event’s viewers and attendees. In all their fun, glory and hilarity, hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler star in Universal’s upcoming comedy “Sisters,” and they will be throwing one last hoorah to make the most out of their age and their family home.
According to Cinema Blend, Universal Pictures released the 20-second teaser trailer of the “Sisters” in light of the duo hosting the Golden Globe Awards. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are giving off the hysterical, comedic vibe they once orchestrated during their “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) days and bringing it to the big screen, complete with some crazy dance moves.
“Sisters” is directed by “Pitch Perfect” helmsman Jason Moore and starred by the “SNL” legendary hilarious duo, Fey and Poehler. The film actually follows after two sisters, who lived separate lives, getting called back home in order to clean out their family home. Their parents have decided to sell, it and as the two sort through their old stuffs, they began rekindling their lost connection over the years. Now fully decided on experiencing one last hoorah of their glory days, the two decided to plan and throw an epic blow-out party for their old classmates before the house gets its deed of sale.
Of course, count on the duo to be very hands on in their film with Fey producing and Poehler executive producing. The screenplay is written by Paula Pell, who’s had first-hand experience with “SNL” and “30 Rock” styles. “Sisters” also stars Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Ike Barinholtz, John Leguizamo, Dianne Wiest, John Cena and James Brolin. The movie opens in time for the holidays next year on Dec. 18, 2015.
