Almost after 12 years, Toho, the famous theater production and distribution company of Japan, is bringing its mostly loved creation “Godzilla” to Japanese theaters, as promised under new avatar and also has started shooting for the same. Read on for more information.
Few footage related to the shoot of the movie have been recently released online which shows that the work for the upcoming film is in full progress. The crew started shooting for the upcoming reboot from September onwards and they were seen filming huge crowd running crazily everywhere, no doubt to save themselves from the clutches of the huge monster.
It was also revealed that the shooting was done near Katama station in Japan, and the city of Utsunomiya in the Tochigi Prefecture of Japan is finalized as the other place for the next shoot.
The studio, which showed the fictional creature in its 29 movies so far with a wish to reboot the Godzilla brand, had established a committee containing studio executives and directors titled Godzilla Strategic Conference (Godzi-Con) last year.
During a press conference in 2014, Taichi Ueda, one of the producers of the project said, “The time has come for Japan to make a film that will not lose to Hollywood.” He further added that the studio will try to build a character that “will represent Japan and be loved around the world,” by 2020 Tokoyo Olympics.
Under the association of famous names like Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi as helmer, whereas Minami Ichikawa, Taichi Ueda, and Taiji Ueda as producers, the project will definitely going to give audience an unforgettable experience.
Well, the name of the movie has not been finalized yet, so till now it is called “New Godzilla” but it will definitely be changed. And till then, we can only wish for the upcoming Godzilla movie’s super duper success.
The “New Godzilla” is scheduled for July 23, 2016 release.
