In his recent interview, Holland revealed that it was all because of his acrobatic skills!
The actor revealed that the very first time he heard that MCU was in the process of recasting Spider-Man, he immediately dialed his agent and asked them to get him a self-tape, but it seems like luck has followed him as his agent revealed that Marvel wanted to see him.
Adding on, throughout the selecting process, the site reported that Holland did some social media acrobatic show just to convince the company that he deserves to be the next Spider-Man. And at last, here it is—we will see him as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man in the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War” movie and in his upcoming solo “Spider-Man” movie in July 2017.
However, Holland in his Digital Spy interview said that he is very vocal about Garfield’s previous portrayal in the character. He noted that he’s a huge fan and it’s really hard not to copy him because the 32-year-old actor did a perfect job.
“…obviously, there are going to be things that I might steal but I hope we get to meet and even work together in the future,” the actor admitted.
