Are your ears ready for another set of cute and squeaky singing voices? Buckle up because Alvin and the whole gang are back! It’s setting off with a new villain to watch out for, confirmed to be played by Tony Hale. Read on for further details.
Variety reports that Tony Hale has just signed in as a new cast member of the fourth “Alvin and the Chipmunks” movie series. Moreover, he’s actually closing in as the new bad guy out to put the Chipmunks out of the industry.
Aside from “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip,” Hale will also be coming back on HBO as Gary Walsh in the new season of “Veep,” which will premiere on April 12, 2015. His other upcoming movies include Kevin Smith’s comedy horror movie “Yoga Hosers” this June and “Angry Birds” in 2016. Hale is represented by Framework Entertainment and UTA.
The “Alvin and the Chipmunks” cast brings back Jason Lee as Dave Seville, the chipmunk trio’s manager/guardian, Justin Long voicing as the troublemaker Alvin, Matthew Gray Gubler as intellectual Simon and Jesse McCartney as the cute Theodore. Directing the movie will be Walt Becker, along with Ross Bagdasarian and Janice Marmen as the movie’s producers. In addition, Karen Rosenfeld will serve as the movie’s executive producer.
Though the movie’s plot details have not yet been revealed. Judging from the new sequel’s title, it probably involves some sort of road trip or maybe even a musical tour. According to I Watch Stuff, Hale will be playing an anonymous (as of the moment) man who Simon briefly met during their trip.
“Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip” will be released on theaters for the entire family to watch on Dec. 23, 2015.
