‘Transformers 5’ Movie Update: Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox to Return in Multi-Part Sequel?
Will Shia LaBeouf be back as Sam Witwicky in ‘Transformers 5’ and star alongside Megan Fox and Mark Wahlberg?

It has been nearly a year since the “Transformers: Age of Extinction” was released, and now fans may have to wait for three years for the sequel to come into the big screen. Will the fifth installment to the sci-fi action film star Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox? Read on to learn more about this scoop.

“Transformers 5” is pretty much one of the most-awaited movies since the “Age of Extinction” hit theatres in 2014. While some people were expecting for the sequel to be released a year later, which is the usual pattern for most blockbuster movies, the fifth installment to the “Transformers” franchise may be released in 2017.

“We think there are any number of stories to be told from the brand that has been around for 30 years with amazing canon and mythology. We would expect the sequel to the Transformers movie to happen in 2017,” Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner said, according to Gospel Herald.

Goldner admitted that the company has already started planning on “Transformers 5.” It was starting with the addition of Akiva Goldsman to lead the writing team. While things are already coming into picture for the “Age of Extinction” sequel, it looks like the company is still waiting for Michael Bay to direct the film.

According to Master Herald, Paramount is still waiting for Bay to take the helm once again. It was despite previous reports that “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” director Jonathan Liebesman has been slated to fill in the shoes of Bay and direct the sequel to the “Transformers” franchise. The outlet noted, however, that Bay will still be working on the franchise, as he was asked to take the lead in expanding the Transformers Cinematic Universe.

While there are still no details about the upcoming “Transformers” movie, Venture Capital Post reported that studio’s plan to create “a multi-part Transformers sequel” will pave the way for former lead stars Shia LaBeouf (Sam Witwicky) and Megan Fox to return to the franchise. This will also give the chance for LaBeouf and Mark Wahlberg to star in the same franchise. This news, however, may not happen, as LaBeouf previously shared negative comments about Bumblebee and Michael Bay.
