Will “Transformers 5” see our favorite ‘Robots In Disguise’ team-up with the G.I.Joe? Are Bruce Willis and Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson doing toe to toe with Bumblebee and Optimus Prime? Read on to find out more.

Maybe a few years down the line, we will see the two Paramount franchises joining up, said “Transformers 5” producer Lorenzo Bonaventura in an interview with Total Film recently. Asking the fans to hold out hope, Bonaventura said, “ at some moment we think, You know what? It’s time to bring the two of them together,’we’ll do that.” But it might be premature to hope this for “Transformers 5.”

Recently, head writer Akiva Goldsman confirmed that the movie will be following two story lines. As Movie News Guide reported recently, one of the plots for “Transformers 5” is likely to be Beast Wars. If the rumors are true, then the movie will see the robots transforming into various animal forms, akin to the Dinobots in 2014’s “Transformers: Age of Extinction.” The other storyline will presumably feature Optimus Prime will face off against the Quintessons, who are the creators of the Transformers.

“Transformers 5” reunites franchise director and the explosives-loving Michael Bay with “Transformers: Age of Extinction” star Mark Wahlberg. Rumors of other cast include Megan Fox, who starred in the first two “Transformers” films before having an explosive public fallout with Bay. However, the two have recently worked on “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle”, and might rekindle their association in the franchise. The movie is currently under pre-production with an ace team of writers, featured in this Movie News Guide article.

“Transformers 5” hits the theaters sometime in 2017.’
