Fans are going to get more footage from the next Transformers movie officially titled The Last Knight this week! According to reports, Paramount has already scheduled the debut of the next trailer for the upcoming action movie on Friday. The two minute and 25-second video will play before Disney’s live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.
Michael Bay’s Grand Return
The first trailer for the next installment of the popular sci-fi movies has arrived last weekend at the Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice Awards. It was the perfect venue because the one-minute video featured a lot of kids. Before Transformers: The Last Knight, the franchise has relatively been child-free. However, the trailer centers on a young girl and her friends bravely facing Transformers.
According to Trailer Track, the sneak peek that will play in theaters starting Friday is an extended version of the clip released at the Kid’s Choice Awards. No one knows yet what the trailer will reveal. Hopefully, fans will be able to get a better grasp of the plot.
The first trailer already suggested that there is going to be a war between humans and Transformers. The character of Mark Wahlberg will also team up with Bumblebee to protect the Earth from the invaders. Moreover, the video embedded below has hinted at how the old characters will meet and form an alliance with the newcomers.
Transformers: The Dark Knight Movie Details
The upcoming movie is directed by Bay. The filmmaker helmed the original movie released in 2007. He also helmed Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and Extinction.
This time around, Paramount Pictures opted to create a writer’s room for the script. Academy Award winner Akiva Goldsman (I Am Legend; I, Robot; A Beautiful Mind) led the team. He is also involved in the planned spin-off starring fan-favorite Bumblebee.
Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, and Stanley Tucci will return to the upcoming movie to reprise their roles. Isabela Moner will join the war as Izabella. Anthony Hopkins also signed up to play Sir Edmund Burton while Laura Haddock was cast as Vivian Wembley, a historian.
According to the plot released by Paramount, Optimus Prime has gone missing. Therefore, Bumblebee will be the one who will help Cade Yeager (Wahlberg) and humanity fight the war against Autobots. Based on promotional photos and videos, Optimus Prime might go rogue. Moreover, the movie will reveal the mystery of why these Autobots keep coming back to Earth. Transformers: The Last Knight will arrive on Jun. 23 in theaters worldwide.
