Transformers: The Last Knight is the latest sequel in the franchise. The franchise that has seen Autobots helping Earth might just see them go in a new direction.
The trailer itself manages to surprise fans when Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots does something unthinkable. He is seen pinning Bumblebee and possibly stabbing him.
Transformers: The Last Knight Optimus Prime
Optimus Prime till now has been the hero in the movies. But with the fifth installment, the situation with him seems to be changing.
The same Autobot leader who once aided humans now has probably turned against them. In a surprise move, Optimus’ actions compel fans to rethink the heroes.
But what could possibly be the reason for him to do that? Here are reasons why Optimus is the main antagonist.
In the previous movie, Optimus left Earth to go after the creators. In this movie, there are chances he must have returned after meeting the creators and is now in some kind of mind control.
Otherwise, why would a hero like Prime who has always been a supporter of the human race try to go against it?
Whatever the reason is for Prime going rogue, he must be doing it with something else in mind. What if there is some other villain who wants to bring destruction to humans and the Autobots?
In order to stop him/her somehow, maybe Optimus is putting up this faux show.
Optimus Goes Rogue
According to Movie Web, a recently released TV spot shows Optimus Prime going rogue. The outlet also stated that Prime looks angry and at one point of time can be seen killing Bumblebee.
This is indeed a major twist to the franchise that has seen Optimus and Bumblebee fighting together as comrades.
It remains to be seen what exactly happens, which makes Optimus go down a darker path.
Transformers: The Last Knight will release this year on June 23.
