SC Films International is all set to produce “Troll: The Rise of Harry Potter Jr.,” in 3D animation. To all the J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter fan, in 1986 Harry Potter and Harry Potter Jr.’s characters were created before the British author penned a literary phenomenon of a young wizard of the same name.

“Troll: The Rise of Harry Potter” will follow the story of Harry Potter Jr. who will save the planet from the clutches of a troll wizard with the help of a magical witch.

According to John Carl Buechler, the original “Troll” film has received a cult status and based upon the success of the ’86 film, the director, who is also co-producing the film thinks that this is the right time to produce an updated 3D animated version for the new generation of movie lovers.

The 1986 “Troll” followed the story of Torok, a wizard who plans to take over an apartment building. Torok’s first step is to possess Wendy Potter. Wendy’s brother, Harry Potter suspects that something is wrong and to their luck, their neighbor Eunice St. Clair is a witch who helps Harry Potter. Meanwhile, Torok and Wendy starts to transform the buildings of other tenants into mythical creatures and now only Harry Potter and Eunice St. Claire can stop them. So you see, this Harry Potter is totally different than J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter.

None of the plot details has been revealed at this moment but according to the official news, Patricia Arquette, who won an Academy Award for Richard Linklater’s Boyhood, has been signed for the voice of the evil witch and Baxter Bartell is into consideration to give the voice of young Harry Potter Jr.

“Troll: The Rise of Harry Potter” is slated to release in early 2017.
