HBO’s crime, suspense and action series “True Detective” is gearing up for its second season. Unlike other series, “True Detective” will not be having its same set of lead characters in the likes of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, who has confirmed that he has not planned to stay after one season in the show as Detective Rust Cohle and Detective Marty Hart. Although rumour has it that Brad Pitt was offered the lead role in “True Detective” Season 2, we can never be too sure until it is confirmed. Meanwhile, different sources are coming out and claiming that Jessica Chastain will star as the lead in the second season of “True Detective.”
Variety confirmed that the actress mentioned in the event at the Hotel du Cap in Cannes that she will not be part of the talked about show. Chastain expressed her concern about the news, emphasizing how it could affect the person who would be taking the part.
“It’s an awkward thing because when all that attention happens — it takes away from whoever plays the role,” said Chastain according to the report from Variety.
We think we got the wrong girl that Nic Pizolatto, creator of the series, is trying to have us identify. When HitFix asked Pizolatto about some Season 2 details, he mentioned about “hard women, bad men and the secret occult history in the US transportation system.”
In a recent interview with Vogue, “Amazing Spider-Man” actress Emma Stone answered right away when she was asked about being offered the female lead role in “True Detective.” Not to mention that she even had a co-star in mind if and when given the chance to work on the series.
“That would be amazing. I would do True Detective with Kristen Wiig in a heartbeat,” said Stone in the Vogue interview as published by Vanity Fair.
Even though HBO has not yet announced when “True Detective” Season 2 will be back, fans and media people alike are speculating that the second installment of the series will be aired sometime in January 2015. This is such a long waiting game to endure. The cast and the plot must be worth the wait.
