Most people watching television or the movies may find Judy Greer very familiar, and why not? The actress has been in several productions, where she’s usually playing the supporting character to the lead star. But on “Married,” which airs Thursdays at 10:00 p.m. on FOX, the actress takes center stage. Learn more about the actress in this feature below.

Judy Greer had her start in Hollywood nearly ten years ago. But while she didn’t end up as the lead, the projects always kept coming. She was on nearly everything; her filmography is impressive. So much so that she was inspired to write a book about herself and her career with “I Don’t Know What You Know Me From: Confessions of a Co-Star.”

Greer also had a chance to do a couple of television series, with one where she actually was the lead star. But “Miss Guided,” which premiered in 2008, only ran for only a few episodes during midseason before it was yanked off the air by ABC.

Perhaps best known for her role as Kitty Sanchez in the FOX comedy “Arrested Development,” Greer said that it wasn’t hard to convince her to work on “Married,” where she plays Lina, the better half of Russ, who is played by comedian and writer Nat Faxon. You can read our profile of Nat Faxon here.

“Nat was already attached to the project and once I read the script, had my lunch with Andrew, knew that I could stand to be in the same room with him all day every day for many months, yes, then I decided definitely I had to be in it,” said Greer in an interview published on SpoilerTV.

The actress added that she likes how the show is edgy and funny, and not at all “tied up with a nice pretty bow.” It’s true that there is a sense of realism to the series. You don’t get to see this in most television shows about couples.

The actress also notes that she loves all the roles that were given to her because they were comfortable, but on “Married” she was challenged and excited to play the part, not just because it’s the lead and it’s bigger, but because she thought the premise of the series is cool.

Greer, who is enjoying being married in real life, also likes how cranky her character can be, which is a lot different than her.

Catch Judy Greer and her co-star Nat Faxon on “Married,” which airs on FX Thursday nights. The show is already down to its final stretch and we’ll keep you updated with news and recaps here on Movie News Guide (MNG). Don’t forget to check out videos of Greer’s interviews below.
