It’s not “The Walking Dead Spinoff” anymore because after months it has finally acquired its own name! Now, I have some more spoilers for you about “Fear the Walking Dead.”
Yes, it’s “Fear the Walking Dead” now but it still remains to be a spinoff of “The Walking Dead.”
Now let’s move on to bigger news. First off, Hulu has bagged the rights to air the series. So you know where to catch it when it airs. Side note: Hulu has really been bagging big TV shows lately, just recently it opened its doors to “The Mindy Project” after being cancelled by Fox.
Moving on, we have a more finalized plot for you. “Fear of The Walking Dead” will be set in Los Angeles and it will follow a family during the early days of the plague, which means that the days when Rick Grimes while he was in a coma.
The show has added two new characters to its main cast as well. Elizabeth Rodriguez “Orange is the New Black” and Mercedes Mason (“666 Park Avenue”) are going to be series regular. These two new names will join Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Alycia Debnam-Carey and Frank Dillane.
Executive producer David Alpert has said that this is not your tradition spinoff, “It’s not quite a prequel. We’re going to play with the timeline a little bit, so you’ll be seeing things that you haven’t seen on [The Walking Dead]. It’s in an entirely different location-we shot the pilot in Los Angeles-and we’re going to invest ourselves in these characters that are nuanced, detailed, and honestly really f–ked up and having these awful experiences between themselves, and trying to find a way, as a lot of us do. You have an ex-wife, you have an ex-husband, and you’re trying to find out, ‘How do I pick up the kids from school?’ and just when you think you can barely hold on, zombies start coming. […] There’s going to be six seconds that reference the mother show. Six seconds. Other than that, the show will be an entirely stand-alone thing. The rules will be the same: zombies don’t talk, and there will be no zombie animals. But other than that, as far as references and things, there will only be a few Easter eggs-and those six seconds.”
AMC has also released a trailer for the upcoming TV series, watch it below:
