Fans were in celebration after the new “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” trailer was revealed during the four-day Star Wars Celebration Live at the Anaheim Convention Center. Director J.J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy attended the event.
The new teaser trailer did not reveal as much, but the voice over from Mark Hamill could have hinted that Skywalker was one of the main characters in the movie, Deadline noted. According to the outlet, when the trailer was revealed during the event, fans broke out in cheers even when the trailer was shown twice in a row.
The two-minute teaser trailer featured a series of battles with the Falcon flying into the crashed Star Destroyer. It also gave fans a first glimpse into Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) and Han Solo.
Meanwhile, a real life BB-8 was also one of the highlights during the convention, which dismissed rumors that the Star Wars droid was purely CGI, Engadget reported. The BB-8 was seen beeping and tweeting during the convention almost too cutely for fans to want to own one.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is set for a release in theaters on Dec. 18. “Star Wars Episode VIII” will be released on May 26, 2017 while the Star Wars spinoff movie “Rogue One” will air on Dec. 16, 2016.
